Tito Ortiz Eyes Return to California After Kids Graduate
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz said he is considering a return to California once his children graduate high school next year.
Appearing on OutKick’s Tomi Lahren is Fearless, the 51-year-old said there is a very big chance he and his wife will move back to the state. Ortiz resigned from the Huntington Beach City Council in 2021 and claimed he was made a political scapegoat. He said the city’s shift toward Republican leadership has created an opening for him to return.
Yes, me and my wife, we actually thought about that and they could bring the crime down, not get rid of the homeless, but just take care of the homes in certain big cities, Ortiz told Lahren. He added that Huntington Beach has addressed those issues since he left and that residents voted Republicans onto the city council.
Ortiz also spoke about his long-running feud with UFC CEO Dana White. He said the two have no relationship at all and that White still calls him stupid whenever his name comes up. Ortiz said he does not spend time thinking about the matter.
He also discussed President Trump. Ortiz said he fought at the Trump Taj Mahal in 2001 for UFC 30 and that Trump attended his fights before becoming friends with White. He said he plans to hold that history over White’s head.
Ortiz said he was not invited to the White House card and that he must pay for his own tickets to attend UFC events. He said he gave 16 years to the promotion from its early days until it was sold.
