A new WNBA Marketability Index for 2026 ranks Caitlin Clark as the league's most marketable player with a score of 83 out of 100. Angel Reese placed second at 80.

Covers produced the index based on social reach, search demand, brand power and on-court visibility. Clark earned perfect scores of 100 in search demand, brand strength and on-court visibility. Reese topped Clark in social media power with a perfect 100 score to Clark's 46.

Reese has more than 12 million followers across Instagram, TikTok and X. The report said she "leads the field in reach and engagement, turning viral moments into a wide-ranging endorsement portfolio across fashion, tech and food brands."

Clark holds the overall edge, the report stated. "Backed by partnerships with Nike, Gatorade, and State Farm, she sits in a tier of her own commercially."

Covers pointed to Clark's impact on television ratings and league exposure. All 44 Indiana Fever games this season will be nationally televised or streamed. "High usage, viral highlights, and sold-out arenas have made her the WNBA’s primary driver of attention," the report wrote.

Paige Bueckers ranked third with 67, followed by A'ja Wilson at 49 and Sabrina Ionescu at 44. Sophie Cunningham placed sixth with 38, ahead of Cameron Brink, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart and Hailey Van Lith.

The study came amid backlash over a WNBA promotional commercial featuring Wilson, Ionescu and Bueckers but not Clark. "That quickly became part of the conversation online, with fans questioning why the league’s biggest draw was missing from a major promotional spot," the report said.
