Brandi Glanville says she may have contracted ringworm in her throat

Brandi Glanville said she fears she contracted a sexually transmitted ringworm infection in her throat.

The 53-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member discussed the concern with Lisa Ann on the Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast. Glanville said she believes she caught the infection while dating someone who worked in the adult film industry.

Lisa Ann said the condition is very common on adult film sets and that most people do not know what to look for. She said makeup artists were trained to inspect performers under good light for patches of the infection because it is highly contagious.

Ringworm is a common fungal infection of the skin, hair or nails, according to the Mayo Clinic. It is not caused by a worm.

Glanville said she had no idea about the infection and underwent inconclusive tests. She said the fungus can burrow deep into the throat or ears even when it is not visible on the skin.

She added that her partner did a lot of wrestling, which she thinks may have been how he contracted the infection before passing it to her. Glanville said she suspects both staph and ringworm may be involved.

Glanville previously said she believed she picked up a parasite during a 2023 trip to Morocco after suffering facial paralysis. She was first diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema, but later learned in February that her 20-year-old ruptured breast implants were the cause of her symptoms.
