WNBA guard Jade Melbourne chipped her tooth in a painful collision during Friday night's game between the Seattle Storm and Golden State Valkyries.

Valkyries guard Veronica Burton tried to dribble off a screen and around Melbourne. The Storm defender dove for a loose ball. Burton landed on top of her, and Melbourne's face hit the court.

Melbourne's Storm teammates checked on her. She walked to the bench smiling but handed her coaches part of her tooth.

Officials called a foul on Melbourne on the play. Golden State led 43-39 at that point and held on for a 91-80 victory.

Burton finished with 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting. Janelle Salaun led the Valkyries with 20 points off the bench. Kaitlyn Chen added 14 points from the bench.

Seattle's Dominique Malonga led all scorers with 21 points. Zia Cooke had 15.

Melbourne ended with 13 points. The Australian is in her fourth full WNBA season. Seattle selected her in the third round of the 2022 draft. She sat out 2022 and debuted for the Storm in 2023.
