Truist Championship Returns to Quail Hollow with Schauffele as Top Betting Pick
The Truist Championship returns to Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, this year after previous relocations. The event moved to the Philadelphia Cricket Club last year because Quail Hollow hosted the 2025 PGA Championship. It also shifted in 2017 for another PGA Championship and in 2022 for the Presidents Cup. Wells Fargo sponsored it before Truist took over.
Sepp Straka won the 2025 Truist Championship. Scottie Scheffler took the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and holds the course record there, but he often skips this tournament unless it hosts a major. He sits out this week's field.
A bettor lays out a plan for the 2026 Truist Championship: 2.46 units on outright winners to profit 20 units each and 3 units on top-10s and top-20s with ties. The betting card lists these picks with odds from DraftKings and Kalshi, subject to change:
Xander Schauffele +1125 (1.78 units) and top-10 with ties +109 (1 unit).
J.J. Spaun +5400 (0.37 units) and top-20 with ties +152 (1 unit).
Harris English +6800 (0.29 units).
Brian Campbell +93059 (0.02 units).
Corey Conners top-20 with ties +217 (1 unit).
Schauffele finished runner-up the last two times the tournament played at Quail Hollow. He placed T28 in the 2025 PGA Championship there but gained strokes in every category except approach. He has gained strokes ball-striking in eight straight starts, including four signature events, The Players Championship and The Masters. Schauffele logged four top-10s in his last six events: T7 at The Genesis Invitational, third at The Players, T4 at the Valspar Championship and T9 at The Masters.
Quail Hollow does not suit J.J. Spaun well. The course plays long, and he lacks distance off the tee. Oakmont Country Club presented similar challenges, yet Spaun won the U.S. Open there last year. He has gained strokes ball-striking in seven consecutive starts, including The Players Championship, his Valero Texas Open victory, The Masters and two signature events. Over his last 24 rounds, Spaun ranks fifth in the field for scoring chances from inside 15 feet on 175-200 yard approaches and ninth from 200-plus yards, per Betsperts Golf. He has gained strokes ball-striking and putting in all three prior Quail Hollow starts: T18 at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship, T27 at the 2023 Wells Fargo and T37 at the 2025 PGA Championship.
Harris English made the cut in all seven Quail Hollow appearances. Highlights include T17 in his 2016 debut, T3 at the 2023 Wells Fargo and T2 at the 2025 PGA Championship. The course features tough green complexes. English gained strokes chipping in four visits and putting in six straight. He ranks among the tour's best putters but lost strokes on the greens last week at the Cadillac Championship. He plays strong on long, difficult layouts and sits fifth in the field for total strokes gained at comparable courses over the last 50 rounds, per Betsperts Golf. That includes his 2025 Farmers Insurance Open win at Torrey Pines.
Brian Campbell won twice last season at driver-heavy events. He stays accurate off the tee and puts well. A $4.33 bet at +93059 odds pays more than $4,000.
Corey Conners brings course history despite two top-20s this year at The Players and Valspar. He gained at least 5.25 strokes ball-striking in his last five Quail Hollow trips, averaging 7.58 per event. He posted three straight top-20s there: T8 at the 2023 Wells Fargo, T13 at the 2024 Wells Fargo and T19 at the 2025 PGA Championship.
One-and-done pick: Rory McIlroy. He won this event the last time it came to Quail Hollow in 2024, his fourth victory there. Mayo Cup season standings: 4,281st with $3,097,475.
