Basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady spent four years with the Orlando Magic. He earned All-Star selections and a Most Improved Player of the Year Award during that time.

McGrady reacted to the team's first-round playoff exit in the 2025-26 season. Orlando had led Detroit 3-1 in the series against the No. 1-seeded Pistons but lost. The Magic fired head coach Jamahl Mosley on Monday. McGrady then criticized the roster.

"What they have on their roster right now, what you see on their bench, they gotta go," McGrady said during NBC’s playoff coverage on Monday. "I'm sorry. They ain't good enough. They need to improve this roster if they wanna be a team in the East that's gonna compete. New York ain’t going nowhere. Boston isn’t going nowhere. Detroit ain’t going nowhere. You have to improve this roster."

Orlando had a chance to upset the Pistons. The Magic held a three-games-to-one lead but dropped the series. In one game, they lost a 24-point lead at home. Game 6 saw Orlando miss 23 straight shots.

The team centers on Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs and Desmond Bane. All four remain under contract for years to come. The organization believes a new coach could lift the franchise.

Orlando made big gains under Mosley but never advanced past the first playoff round.
