Neymar Apologizes to Santos Teammate Robinho Jr for Slapping Him in Training
Neymar said he 'crossed the line' as he apologized to his Santos teammate Robinho Jr for slapping the teenager during a training session.
Santos opened an investigation after the 18-year-old forward accused Neymar of delivering 'a violent slap to the face' on Sunday. The incident occurred after Robinho Jr dribbled past the 34-year-old at the Rei Pele Training Centre.
The club said Tuesday that the pair had cleared the air and the matter was 'all sorted'.
'If you want an apology in front of the media, here it is,' Neymar added. He is Brazil's all-time leading goalscorer with 79 goals.
The former Barcelona and Paris St-Germain forward celebrated scoring for Santos in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Recoleta in the Copa Sudamericana. He hugged substitute Robinho Jr, the son of his former Brazil teammate Robinho, once of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
