Spurs Defeat Thunder in Game 7 to Reach NBA Finals
The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs met Saturday night in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals.
San Antonio won 111-103 and advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014. The Spurs will face the New York Knicks, who swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.
Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 22 points and seven rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points for Oklahoma City.
The Knicks reached the Finals for the first time in 27 years. They are 11-0 in playoff games since trailing Atlanta 2-1 in the first round.
The Spurs last reached the Finals in 2014, when they defeated the Miami Heat in five games. Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals is scheduled for Wednesday in San Antonio.
No defending champion has reached the Finals since Golden State in 2019. The winner of this series will be the eighth different champion in eight seasons.
