Harrison Ford Puzzled by Sherry Cola's 'Raw-Dogging a Flight' Remark on Sirius XM

Sherry Cola sparked a funny generational mix-up with Harrison Ford over slang during a Sirius XM radio appearance.

The Shrinking star described her travel habits on The Morning Mashup. She said she sometimes raw-dogs a flight, meaning she sits in silence and solitude, doing nothing but staring blankly ahead. "I will raw-dog a flight," Cola said. "We're doing the most all the time, right? So, sometimes silence and solitude is necessary, and just like sitting on a plane watching nothing, doing nothing, just staring blankly at … it's called raw-dogging a flight."

Ford interrupted with confusion. "That's not what ‘raw-dog’ means," he said.

Host Nicole Ryan joked, "Do you want to explain to us what it actually means?"

"They told me a little late," Ford replied. "I really didn't, well, why would I run across something that ..."

"Vile," Ryan added. "It's filthy."

Christa Miller, another Shrinking co-star, noted, "You're married. You don't have to worry about that."

Ford responded, "I'm over this part of anybody's life. I have five children. People – I never – what does this mean? Why do you let me do this? And then you make fun of me. It's because I'm old."

The banter recalled a season one scene in Shrinking where Ford's character, therapist Dr. Paul Rhoades, mistakes "raw-dogging" for talking to someone who does not want to talk.

Ford plays the role in the Apple TV+ series alongside Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Lukita Maxwell, Brett Goldstein, Michael Urie and Ted McGinley. His character deals with Parkinson's disease while guiding younger therapists.

Ford first gained notice in the late 1960s and broke out as Han Solo in Star Wars. He later starred in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blade Runner, The Fugitive and Witness.
