Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Challenges
Country music star Dolly Parton announced she is postponing her six-date residency at The Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace from December 2025 to September 2026 due to health challenges.
In a video statement posted on her social media accounts Monday, the 80-year-old singer said she has been responding well to medications and treatments while improving every day. She cited a longtime struggle with kidney stones.
"I've still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!" Parton said.
Parton explained she cannot perform on stage while dizzy from carrying banjos, guitars and other instruments on 5-inch heels. "You know that I'm going to be wearing them," she added in an upbeat tone.
The musician said it will take time before she is stage-performance ready. "I am truly sorry that I'm going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas," she told fans. "Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I'll see you somewhere down the line."
Parton noted she continues recording music, making videos, visiting her Dollywood park and working on a Broadway musical. She is also preparing to open a museum and a hotel in Nashville later this year.
A musical icon with 10 Grammy Awards and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Parton is known for country crossover hits such as Coat of Many Colors, I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5 and Jolene.
She had planned to perform those songs along with dozens of fan favorites during the Las Vegas shows, her first stay on the Las Vegas Strip since the 1990s when she appeared with Kenny Rogers, her duet partner on Islands in the Stream.
