Bron Breakker Defeats Seth Rollins in WWE Backlash Opener
Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins in the opening match at Backlash. Michael Cole called it best when the bell rang: "Bron Breakker has arrived." Breakker out-wrestled and out-maneuvered the multi-time champion in a brutal fight to claim a split-second edge.
Paul Heyman backed Breakker from his corner, along with the rest of The Bloodline. Rollins briefly turned his attention from Breakker. He struck Austin Theory with a chair and a Stomp, then chased Logan Paul from ringside. As Rollins slid back into the ring, Breakker leveled him with a spear.
Rollins climbed to the middle rope for an Avalanche Stomp. Breakker countered with another spear as "The Visionary" launched off the ropes. Breakker then positioned the dazed Rollins in the ring's center. He bounced off the ropes for momentum and connected with a torpedo spear to seal the pin.
The victory marked Breakker's biggest since joining WWE's main roster. The two had clashed before when Breakker was still in NXT. It was Breakker's first match since his Royal Rumble appearance in January. He returned at WrestleMania 42, costing Rollins a win against Gunther.
Breakker now controls his path forward. Gold awaits the "Unpredictable Bada--."
