WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson Backs Spencer Pratt for LA Mayor
Torrie Wilson, one of the most recognizable women's wrestlers during the Monday Night Wars between WWE and World Championship Wrestling, entered politics Sunday with a social media endorsement.
Wilson worked in WCW from 1999 to 2000. She joined WWE after it bought WCW and stayed with the company from 2001 to 2008, with several appearances afterward. The WWE inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 2019. She also entered the Tri-Fitness Hall of Fame in 2012 after winning its Grace and Physique Championship in 1998.
Wilson quote-tweeted a campaign video from actor Spencer Pratt on X. "I don’t live in LA anymore. If I did I’d support my friend @spencerpratt," she wrote. "LA needs change."
Pratt challenges Mayor Karen Bass. He was among thousands affected by last year's Palisades wildfires and said residents were upset with Bass's management. Bass accused Pratt of exploiting the tragedy, which destroyed his and his family's homes, for political gain.
Pratt responded that he won community awards for helping Palisades residents during the fires. He said he knew people who burned alive across the street from his childhood home.
Bass and Pratt lead among 13 candidates for mayor. The primary is June 2, with the general election Nov. 3.
