Geno Auriemma, who has 11 national titles with UConn, said he acted like a total rookie in his team's latest Final Four exit.

The UConn coach addressed a viral shouting match with South Carolina's Dawn Staley from the campus in Storrs. The confrontation came at the end of UConn's 62-48 loss in Phoenix. Auriemma took issue with South Carolina's physical play and what he saw as a lack of calls from officials. He also claimed Staley snubbed him during the pregame handshake.

Staley dismissed the incident. "I speak to a lot of coaches before the game," she told reporters. "I thought I did what I normally do."

On Monday, Auriemma reflected on the moment. "You do things on the spur of the moment sometimes, but they usually come from things that have been building up for some time," he told the media.

"When I walked into the locker room afterward, you’re just shaking your head going, five more seconds, you couldn't keep it in for five more seconds? I just feel like a dumb--- for the way it played out. We are all human and we all do dumb s---."

"I wish I had those five seconds back," he added. "But that’s not how it works."
