The 2026 college football transfer portal saw heavy activity with high-profile players switching teams. Five standouts should play key roles for their new programs.

Princewill Umanmielen, an edge rusher, moved from Ole Miss to LSU. The top edge rusher in the portal class followed head coach Lane Kiffin to Baton Rouge. He posted nine sacks in 2025 and earned third-team All-SEC honors. His brother Princely was an All-SEC edge rusher and second-round NFL draft pick from Ole Miss. Umanmielen joins LSU's top-ranked transfer class, which includes quarterback Sam Leavitt. He should strengthen the Tigers' defense.

Eric Singleton Jr., a wide receiver, transferred from Auburn to Florida. His speed stands out with a sub-10.3-second 100-meter dash time. In two seasons at Georgia Tech, he caught passes for 1,500 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging over 14 yards per catch. Production dipped in one year at Auburn. He reunites with offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner. Florida's receivers, including Vernell Brown III and Dallas Wilson, will create one-on-one matchups in his final eligibility year.

Cam Coleman, another wide receiver, left Auburn for Texas. The former five-star recruit had solid seasons with the Tigers but showed untapped potential amid quarterback issues. He heads to Austin, where coach Steve Sarkisian and offensive coordinator Kyle Flood run a strong passing attack. Quarterback Arch Manning dominated late in 2025 and enters 2026 as a Heisman favorite. Coleman pairs with Ryan Wingo, forcing defenses to pick coverage targets.

Damon Wilson II, an edge rusher, went from Missouri to Miami. At 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, he recorded nine sacks in 2025 and made second-team All-SEC. He started at Georgia before transferring to Missouri. Back in his native Florida, he fits Miami's aggressive defense. That unit produced 2025 draft picks Akheem Mesidor and Rueben Bain. Strong interior recruits will give Wilson one-on-one chances against ACC lines.

Josh Hoover, a quarterback, transferred from TCU to Indiana. His stats drew interest despite few wins for the Horned Frogs. Indiana added Michigan State's Nick Marsh, a top portal receiver. Coach Curt Cignetti has maximized quarterbacks since arriving three seasons ago, including Kurtis Rourke in 2024 and Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza in 2025, the No. 1 draft pick. Hoover suits Cignetti's scheme and bolsters the Hoosiers heading into 2026.
