Spencer Pratt Vows Zero Tolerance for Antisemitism in LA Mayor Campaign Messages
Spencer Pratt's campaign for Los Angeles mayor took up antisemitism in alleged private messages posted on social media.
The former reality TV star accused political leaders of indulging anti-Jewish rhetoric and promised a tough crackdown if elected. The exchange began when a user asked Pratt on X, "Would truly like to know what you plan to do to keep Jewish people safe in LA and our Jewish children on LA campuses?"
Pratt responded with a long message denouncing antisemitism and faulting current leaders for allowing it. "I’ve been horrified to see how the Jewish community has been vilified over the past few years and I will have ZERO tolerance for it," he wrote. "Antisemitism is a legitimate mind virus and a sign of a decaying society."
He charged politicians with embracing antisemitic tropes for political gain. "Let’s be honest, this is a culture problem: the current leadership has played FAR too cute with anti-Semitic groups and tropes, that BS stops when I am mayor," Pratt wrote. "I will never cower to social media trends or bullies. I don’t care how en vogue it is, I will never abandon my Jewish brothers and sisters."
The messages arrived as Jewish communities nationwide report more antisemitic incidents, campus protests and hostility since the Israel-Hamas war. Pratt laid out steps for Los Angeles, such as more police around Jewish sites.
"Protecting Jews begins with strong and unwavering leadership," he wrote. "As a practical matter, I will direct LAPD to ramp up patrols around synagogues and Chabad centers."
Pratt criticized university leaders over antisemitism targeting Jewish students and faculty. "Unfortunately, the Mayor has no authority over the Chancellors at Universities, so it comes down to using the bully pulpit to shame and pressure them to act in defense of Jewish students and faculty," he said. "Nobody is better at that than me. I will be their worst nightmare if they don’t get in gear."
He urged federal and local prosecutors to step up civil rights cases. "I will also lean on DOJ and DA Hochman to aggressively pursue civil rights prosecutions," Pratt wrote. "I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a group more in need of what our civil rights laws are designed for than Jews, today."
Pratt ended, "We’ve seen this movie before, and this crap ain’t happening on my watch. ‘Never again’ is right now."
Fox News Digital sought comment from Pratt.
Pratt entered the race in January, announcing his bid on the one-year anniversary of the Palisades fire that destroyed his home. He made the announcement at a "They Let Us Burn!" protest near the site on Jan. 7.
His campaign picked up steam with donations from Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and backing from Joe Rogan. Pratt has run viral ads and impressed in a recent debate.
The fires fueled his rise. Pratt, whose parents also lost their home, attacked California leaders online for mismanagement, corruption and "criminal negligence." In August 2025, he went to Washington, D.C., to meet federal officials including former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
