Roman Reigns Pins Jacob Fatu to Retain World Heavyweight Title at Backlash

Jacob Fatu made clear his drive for the World Heavyweight Championship even after Roman Reigns pinned him to retain the title at Backlash on Saturday night.

Fatu showed a crazed expression following the loss. He appeared shocked and enraged as Reigns' hand was raised in victory. Fatu signaled that his chase for the belt would continue beyond the premium live event.

The Samoan Werewolf unleashed his anger on Reigns, Raw general manager Adam Pearce and producers who tried to halt his post-match rampage. Fatu targeted the referee, locked Reigns in the Tongan death grip and delivered superkicks to anyone in his path.

Reigns had the final say as he headed up the entrance ramp after the brutal attack. "This is why we shoulda never let Jacob in this company," Reigns told Cathy Kelley on his way to the back. "You don’t belong here, Jacob. There is no order with you. This is your last night here."

Reigns and Fatu fought intensely through the match, with much of the Tribal Chief's offense looking ineffective. A critical error doomed Fatu late in the bout.

Fatu trapped Reigns in the Tongan death grip near the finish. Reigns grabbed the referee and ripped off a turnbuckle pad in the process. He then slammed Fatu into the exposed metal and followed with a spear.

Reigns pinned Fatu for the victory, which ignited the wild post-match chaos.
