Natalie Decker parks truck after 81 laps at Dover, quits Truck Series

Natalie Decker parked her truck during Friday's race at Dover after 81 laps after NASCAR black-flagged her for being too slow.

Decker told her team over the radio that she was struggling to hold herself together after the penalty. She said there were many things she wanted to say about the series director but was trying to keep it together.

Team owner Josh Reaume urged her to bring the truck back to the garage for the sake of the sponsors. Decker replied that she felt like a failure and that she would probably get suspended.

She told the team she would not return to the Truck Series and would stay in the O'Reilly Series. She said the amount of online hate she expected would be overwhelming.

In a statement posted on Instagram after the race, Decker said she received a penalty at the start and another for speeding on pit road. She said she never recovered mentally and was disappointed in herself.

Decker, who turns 30 next month and is a mother, said she would push herself to move forward and show up to her next race with a smile.
