John Cena Teases History-Making News at WWE Backlash
John Cena teased history-making news for WWE's Backlash premium live event on Monday. He is set to appear at the show in some form.
Cena ended his in-ring career in December with a retirement match loss to Gunther. He returned at WrestleMania 42 as host after a possible break from WWE.
Cena posted on social media about his Backlash appearance. "It’s official! I’m headed to #WWEBacklash," he wrote on X. "After months of planning and effort, I am SO excited to break some history-making news! I can’t promise it’ll be perfect but I can promise it will change the WWE experience for Superstars and fans!"
Backlash takes place at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
The card includes Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu. Trick Williams defends the United States Championship against Sami Zayn in a WrestleMania rematch. Seth Rollins faces Bron Breakker, Iyo Sky takes on Asuka, and Danhausen with a mystery partner battles The Miz and Kit Wilson.
Cena appeared at last year's Backlash after winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. He beat Randy Orton to retain the title. His previous Backlash match came against Edge, where he lost the World Heavyweight Championship in a Last Man Standing bout.
