A former Black Lives Matter activist described the movement as a fraud and indoctrination by the radical left. Xaviaer DuRousseau explained his change of views on The Riley Gaines Show podcast.

DuRousseau said he spent his youth backing liberal causes. He called himself the college kid spreading woke stuff on campus. His shift came during the 2020 George Floyd riots.

"Socialism has literally never worked. BLM has always been a scam and the Democratic Party has always been the party of racism and violence," DuRousseau said.

"I have just been drinking the Kool-Aid because this was the indoctrination that was put upon me from the age of a little child," he added.

DuRousseau, now a conservative content creator and PragerU personality, traced his change to filming Netflix's reality show The Circle. He researched conservative arguments to debunk them but saw his own confirmation bias.

He questioned the riots and whether millions raised went to victims' families. People responded with hostility.

"Whenever I called it out, I was told that I needed to stay in line or that I was losing the plot. And I just got sick of it," DuRousseau said. He called the activism performative.

He had supported the movements publicly but harbored doubts. Family and friends worked in law enforcement amid anti-police protests.

"I thought it was weird that so many people were demonizing every single cop, and I thought it was insane to watch the looting and the rioting happening," he said.

Families of violence victims received no help from groups claiming to support them.

"Breonna Taylor's mother was even speaking out saying that her daughter's name and death was exploited, and there were millions of dollars made off of her death," he said. "Not a single dollar went to her, went to legal fees, or anything of that nature. So, I just started seeing the fraud pretty early on."

In 2025, federal prosecutors opened an investigation into whether Black Lives Matter leaders defrauded donors of tens of millions.
