Christian Lundgaard won the Indianapolis Grand Prix on Saturday, his first IndyCar victory since 2023 in a race filled with crashes.

Felix Rosenqvist suffered one of the day's most frightening incidents. On Lap 29 entering Turn 13 of the road course, he collided with the side of Pato O’Ward's car and went airborne. Rosenqvist attempted to drive away from the wreckage, but his car sustained too much damage. He crossed the finish line in 23rd place after starting third.

Rosenqvist's crash was among several on the 2.438-mile, 14-turn circuit. Contact began before the green flag on the front stretch. As drivers entered Turn 1, several spun out, with Rosenqvist caught in that melee as well.

Marcus Ericsson, Christian Rasmussen and Alexander Rossi did not finish the 85-lap race. Romain Grosjean completed it but trailed by one lap.

Officials called 12 caution laps during the event, which saw six lead changes among four drivers. Lundgaard made the decisive move with 18 laps remaining, passing David Malukas for the lead. He fended off the field to secure the win.
