Cameron Young Wins Cadillac Championship by Six Shots at Doral
Cameron Young won the Cadillac Championship wire-to-wire by six shots on the 7,800-yard Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral in Miami. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished closest to him.
Young took 94 PGA Tour starts for his first victory at the 2025 Wyndham Championship, also by six shots. Since then, he starred at the 2025 Ryder Cup and won The Players plus this signature event by six shots in under two months of 2026. He ranked fourth in strokes gained off the tee and first in strokes gained putting at Doral. His putting has become a weapon this year, lifting him to No. 4 in Data Golf rankings.
Young called a tough penalty on himself during the event and immediately benefited. American fans have embraced the reserved father of three, a PGA professional's son from Sleepy Hollow, New York, who earned his Tour card on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The Blue Monster course ranks in the bottom half of PGA Tour venues. Its length and man-made water hazards offer little challenge without wind, which pros overpower with modern technology. Wind makes holes feel repetitive with long-iron shots over water. Most fans today ignore its history, like the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson duel 21 years ago.
The event's spot as the first of two signature events before the PGA Championship hurt attendance, especially with Quail Hollow next week. Signature events without cuts served a purpose against LIV Golf but now number too many on the calendar.
Meanwhile, Nelly Korda won the Riviera Maya Open in Mexico by four shots. It followed her five-shot victory at last week's Chevron Championship major. She has three wins in 2026 and no finish worse than second in six starts, losing a combined eight shots across them. Lauren Coughlin beat her by five at the Aramco Championship.
The 27-year-old Korda reached 18 career LPGA victories, the youngest American since Nancy Lopez in 1980 to do so. Her 2024 season brought seven wins, including the Chevron. She won nothing in 2025 but dominates again now.
