Beckham and Gallagher Brothers Enter Sunday Times Rich List for First Time
Sir David Beckham and Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List of the UK's 350 richest individuals and families for the first time.
Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja topped the list for the fifth year in a row with a combined fortune of £38bn ($48bn). The brothers oversee the Hinduja Group, which has global operations in oil, gas, banking and transport.
Their wealth now exceeds that of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty, who rank on the list with an estimated £563m.
The Sunday Times reported that at least 15 foreign nationals from last year's list were removed because they now live elsewhere. Nearly a third of the UK citizens on the list no longer reside on the British mainland.
"One in six of the individuals and families who appeared on the list two years ago don't feature this time," an unnamed source said.
"We have also seen a sharp rise in the number of British nationals now resident in Dubai, Switzerland and Monaco. As UK nationals these people remain on our Rich List - wherever they now live."
