Aaron Rodgers Plans Visit to Steelers in Pittsburgh This Weekend

Aaron Rodgers plans to visit Pittsburgh and the Steelers, according to a source familiar with the free-agent quarterback's tentative schedule. The source confirmed the plans on Thursday.

Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan first reported that Rodgers will arrive in the city Friday and spend time with the club over the weekend.

A Steelers source expressed uncertainty, telling OutKick the visit was "news to me."

Rodgers has not signed with the team. A visit typically signals an impending deal, but no agreement exists yet.

Money stands as the main hurdle to Rodgers committing fully to the Steelers. Last season, he signed a one-year discount deal worth $13.65 million and said contract terms were not an issue.

The Steelers recently placed an unrestricted free-agent tender on Rodgers, offering a 10 percent raise to about $15.5 million for 2026. That figure would rank him 18th among NFL quarterbacks by annual average, despite his four MVP awards at age 42.

Rodgers likely views himself higher than 18th best. His agent may push the Steelers for more before any signing.

The Steelers' other quarterback options are Mason Rudolph, Will Howard and rookie Drew Allar. None suits a team with playoff goals as a starter.
