Woman Arrested After Driving on Sidewalk to Hit Boy on Bike in Cheney

Police in Cheney, Washington, arrested a driver who tried to hit a boy riding his bike in a neighborhood.
Officers released footage of the 56-year-old woman steering her car onto the sidewalk and attempting to strike the boy, who escaped by pedaling away in front of the vehicle.
The driver kept chasing the child along the sidewalk. She then returned to the road and drove off.
The boy suffered no injuries in the incident. But his mother told BBC News partner CBS News that her son was badly shaken and scared.
"He thought for sure she was going to run him over," Jennifer Taylor said.
