Oleksandr Usyk defends his WBC heavyweight title against kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven at the Pyramids of Giza on Saturday.

The bout pits two dominant figures from different combat sports against each other. Verhoeven, 37, has held Glory's heavyweight kickboxing title for 11 years with 13 successful defenses. He has boxed professionally only once, in 2014.

Usyk, 39, won Olympic gold in 2012 and later became undisputed champion at cruiserweight and twice at heavyweight. He has beaten Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois, each of them twice.

From his training camp in Spain, Usyk told BBC Sport he plans two or three more fights after this one. He said he has a secret plan for the bout and wants to build a big show as one of his final appearances.

Usyk said he is preparing the same way he would for any opponent. He works hard in sparring, conditioning and cardio, and treats the fight as serious rather than a show.

The Ukrainian added that a career in acting could follow once he retires from the ring.
