Toronto Public Health Unveils Six World Cup Condom Wrapper Designs with Eggplant and Peach Emojis
Toronto Public Health spent nearly $200,000 on condoms and related items for the World Cup, the Toronto Sun reported in January. The purchases included 576,000 branded condoms and 200,000 individual packages of lubricant. Condom wrappers came in six designs.
The free World Cup-themed condoms aim to help fans 'score safely' when the tournament reaches the city next month. Toronto Public Health seeks to prevent sexually transmitted diseases from rising.
The six condom wrapper designs appeared on social media yesterday. They go beyond simple soccer balls or World Cup logos. Officials described them as suited for fans at soccer matches, watch parties, summer festivals or parties. The designs resemble collectibles.
Wrappers carry phrases such as 'block those shots' and 'what a finish.' One features an eggplant emoji with soccer balls attached. Another shows a peach emoji standing in front of a goal.
