Cole Allen, accused of shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, pleaded not guilty to all charges through his attorney on Monday.

Allen appeared in court wearing an orange jumpsuit and shackled at the wrists and feet. He faces charges of attempting to assassinate President Trump, assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon, and two gun counts.

His attorneys filed a motion last week to disqualify all U.S. attorneys in the Washington, D.C., office, including top prosecutor Jeanine Pirro. They argued the prosecutors are "purported victims and witnesses in this case." Pirro, a longtime friend of Trump, has referenced her status as a potential victim in media appearances. In one CNN interview, she described being "in that combat zone" in the ballroom.

Public defender Eugene Ohm, representing Allen, told the court his team needs more information from the government on possible charges listing Pirro or Attorney General Todd Blanche as victims. Ohm said it would be "wholly inappropriate" for the two to direct the prosecution after presenting themselves as victims in public statements.

Allen's lawyers are also seeking to remove Blanche from the case.

The Justice Department must respond to the motion by June 22. Allen's team will have five days after that filing to reply.
