Scarlett Bordeaux, who calls herself Professional Wrestling’s Smokeshow, entered WWE with plans to revive sexy elements in the ring. Those ambitions never took shape.

She and her husband, Kevin Kesar, known as Killer Kross, were first released by the organization in 2021. The pair returned the next year for a three-year stint that ended in August 2025.

In an interview with retired wrestler D-Von Dudley, the couple talked about their WWE experience and the common practice of releasing talent.

Scarlett said she built a following in smaller promotions with strong online numbers. She aimed to bring sex appeal back to WWE wrestling.

That did not happen. She got no chance to pursue those goals.

Without support, her vision stayed unrealized. Scarlett faulted WWE's direction for stifling it and keeping sex appeal sidelined. She wanted to return to an era of exposed skin and bra-and-panties matches.

"I think they were pushing the women’s revolution in the way they were, and my character was the exact opposite of that. It was a throwback. It was a parody of bringing sexy back to wrestling. Because all the girls are trying to be serious," Scarlett said.

"I’m like, ‘No, no. Let’s just be a hot chick. Like, bring back bra and panties matches.’ No one was doing that at the time. No one had their asses out. It pissed a lot of people off, including women in the business. But it’s funny, because now, look where we are… it was a great heel character."

WWE passed on the idea. D-Von Dudley said the organization "dropped the ball." They hired Scarlett for her character but chose not to feature it.
