The U.S. Men's National Team is 2-0 at the 2026 World Cup after a 2-0 win over Australia.

The match took place on a hot day in Seattle. Late in the game, German referee Felix Zwayer went down with what appeared to be a cramp.

Australia's Aiden O'Neill and U.S. forward Folarin Balogun helped him stretch. Balogun scored twice in the opener against Paraguay and set up an own goal by Cameron Burgess that opened the scoring against Australia. FIFA medical staff also assisted, and another official brought Zwayer a liquid that he drank.

Zwayer returned to his feet after the treatment. The incident highlighted the physical demands placed on soccer referees, who often run many miles during a match.
