Protesters Target Oregon Hotel Where FBI Director Kash Patel Was Believed Staying
A group of protesters gathered outside the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland on Saturday night, where FBI Director Kash Patel was believed to be staying while attending a friend's funeral over the weekend.
Video on social media captured the crowd shouting as they assembled. The demonstrators opposed what they called the weaponization of the FBI under President Donald Trump's administration and Patel's handling of documents from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to FOX 12 Oregon.
It was not clear which hotel Patel actually stayed in. Sources told Fox News Digital that Patel and his girlfriend Alexis Wilkins were in Portland over the weekend for the funeral of a close friend. Patel helped carry the friend's casket at the service, the sources said. The funeral was set for Saturday in Portland, per an obituary shared with Fox News.
The protesters used publicly available tracking data to follow a Department of Justice aircraft they believed was connected to the FBI director, FOX 12 reported. They then pinpointed the Sentinel Hotel by spotting security measures around downtown.
One protester told FOX 12, "It wasn’t 100% confirmed but very likely he was at the Sentinel. We were there to protest the weaponization of Trump’s and Patel’s FBI to suppress our freedom of speech and freedom of press."
Fox News Digital contacted the Department of Justice, Sentinel Hotel, Portland Police Bureau and FBI for comment.
