The 151st Preakness Stakes will be run on Saturday at Laurel Park instead of its usual home at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

Pimlico is under construction and is expected to reopen next season. Laurel Park sits about 20 miles south of Pimlico and just outside Washington, D.C.

The race will not feature Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo, so there will be no chance for a Triple Crown this year. Fourteen 3-year-old horses will run 1 3/16 miles for a $2 million purse.

The field and morning-line odds are:

Taj Mahal (Sheldon Russell) 5-1
Ocelli (Tyler Gaffalione) 8-1
Crupper (Junior Alvarado) 25-1
Robusta (Rafael Bejarno) 29-1
Talkin (Irad Ortiz Jr.) 9-1
Chip Honcho (Jose L. Ortiz) 11-1
The Hell We Did (Luis Saez) 9-1
Bull by the Horns (Micah J. Husbands) 17-1
Iron Honor (Flavien Prat) 8-1
Napoleon Solo (Paco Lopez) 9-1
Corona de Oro (John R. Velazquez) 16-1
Incredibolt (Jaime A. Torres) 5-1
Great White (Alex Achard) 7-1
Pretty Boy Miah (Ricardo Santana Jr.) 31-1

Taj Mahal, trained by Brittany Russell, and Incredibolt, trained by Riley Mott, are the co-favorites at 5-1. Great White, trained by John Ennis, is next at 7-1. Ocelli, trained by D. Whitworth Beckman, and Iron Honor, trained by Chad Brown, are both 8-1.

The weekend began with a fatality when Hit Zero collapsed and died after finishing last in its first career race on Friday. The horse, trained by Russell, was the favorite but began coughing, dropped to its knees and died after crossing the finish line.

Fourteen horses are entered, the largest field in 15 years. It is the second time in 40 years that the first- or second-place finisher from the Kentucky Derby is not running in the Preakness.

Only three horses in the field ran in the Kentucky Derby: Ocelli finished third, Incredibolt finished sixth and Robusta finished 14th. Great White was scratched from the Derby.

Brittany Russell is seeking to become the first woman trainer to win the Preakness. Taj Mahal has won all three of its races at Laurel Park.

The race is scheduled for May 16, 2026, at Laurel, Maryland, with a projected post time of 6:50 p.m. ET. It will be televised on NBC.
