OutKick Picks Caitlin Clark Under 19.5 Points in Fever-Wings Opener

Saturday's slate puts the spotlight on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever hosting the Dallas Wings at 1 p.m. ET. The matchup features the last four No. 1 draft picks and WNBA Rookies of the Year: Indiana center Aliyah Boston and Clark, plus Dallas guards Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, this year's first overall selection.

The Fever hold an edge in roster development. Dallas picked first in the last two drafts, while Indiana fell to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces 3-2 in a best-of-five semifinal series last season.

Indiana went 3-1 straight up and against the spread versus Dallas last year. At DraftKings on Friday evening, the Fever were -285 moneyline favorites (Dallas +230), -6.5 point spreads and a total of 177.5.

Clark showed signs of a sophomore slump in her second season last year, playing just 13 games. Her field goal percentage dropped from 41.7% to 36.7%, a decline of 50 percentage points. Her 3-point shooting fell from 34.4% to 27.9%, down 65 points.

That trend aligns with her potential shift to a floor general role over scoring guard. Indiana came one game from the 2025 WNBA Finals without her, thanks to All-Stars Aliyah Boston and point guard Kelsey Mitchell.

As the Fever's point guard, Clark's job calls for setting up teammates with better shots instead of dominating the offense.

She also missed most of last season with injury and got hurt in preseason, which could leave her rusty for the opener. Clark scores mainly from the perimeter rather than driving to the basket.

Sportsbooks list her over 19.5 points as plus-money, despite her status as the league's most popular player.
