New Hunter Biden X account draws GOP mockery after first post
A newly active X account using former first son Hunter Biden’s name drew mockery from Republican lawmakers and social media figures after posting its first message Tuesday.
"I'm Hunter Biden. You've never actually heard from me," the account posted.
The account’s profile lists the user as an "Artist. Author. Recovery Advocate." It links to Hunter Biden’s art gallery website, which in turn links back to the X account along with a YouTube page and a Substack account. The account was created in 2013 but had not posted publicly until Tuesday.
Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn replied, "Your laptop’s reputation precedes you." Indiana Sen. Jim Banks wrote, "We’ve heard plenty." Missouri Rep. Jason Smith added, "Trust me, we've heard and seen ENOUGH from you."
Other users resurfaced past controversies and joked about a possible 2028 presidential run. Conservative commentator Nick Sortor wrote, "Oh this oughta be good." Fox News contributor Mary Katharine Ham noted the account’s claim that no one had heard from him before.
Hunter Biden, 56, has been in the public eye again while promoting his memoir and other projects after years of legal issues. He pleaded guilty in September 2024 to nine federal tax charges in California for evading more than $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. He was also convicted in Delaware in June 2024 of lying on a federal form about his drug use to buy a firearm in 2018.
President Joe Biden pardoned his son for any offenses committed or that may have been committed between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 1, 2024. Hunter Biden has also faced scrutiny over foreign business dealings and family political ties.
Candace Owens tagged the account in a trailer for an upcoming interview. The account reposted the video and wrote, "She’s got questions. I’ve got answers. Thursday."
