England veteran flanker Marlie Packer scored four tries to power the Red Roses to a thrashing of Italy in Parma, keeping them on course for an eighth straight Women's Six Nations title.

A victory for France later in Edinburgh at 16:15 BST will set up a Grand Slam decider at the 42,115-capacity Stade Atlantique in Bordeaux next Sunday.

The world champions from September stretched their record winning run to 37 games.

England grabbed the try bonus point inside the first 15 minutes through Mia Venner after a fast start.

Packer scored two tries in each half. Hooker Amy Cokayne crossed for two tries, and Helena Rowland also scored.

Italy earned a bonus point despite England's control. Vittoria Vecchini and Alissa Ranuccini scored tries on either side of a penalty try, with Francesca Sgorbini adding the fourth.

Abi Burton claimed a second-half try. John Mitchell's side showed defensive weaknesses but stayed in command.

France's slow starts against Italy and Ireland this year position England as heavy favorites for a fifth straight Grand Slam.

Sgorbini's late second try pushed Italy past 30 points. Defense remains a worry for Mitchell before next week.

France came closest to England's streak last year, scoring 42 points in a one-point loss at Allianz Stadium.
