Man pleads not guilty to threatening ex-Prince Andrew near Sandringham home

A 39-year-old man pleaded not guilty Friday to threatening former Prince Andrew near his new home on the royal family's Sandringham estate.

Alex Jenkinson, 39, faces two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior toward the former prince. King Charles III stripped Andrew of his royal titles last year over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Jenkinson is accused of threatening Andrew on Wednesday and another man on Tuesday.

The former Duke of York will give evidence at the trial, scheduled for July 29 at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

A masked man yelled at Andrew while he walked his dogs near his home, the Daily Telegraph reported. Officers responded and arrested the man on suspicion of a public order offense and possession of an offensive weapon, according to a police statement.

The incident occurred three months after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as he is now known, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to his Epstein connections and his tenure as U.K. trade envoy.

Andrew relocated to Sandringham earlier this year after authorities asked him to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Virginia Giuffre, Andrew's main accuser, alleged she was forced to have sex with him three times starting at age 17. Andrew denied the claims but settled her 2022 civil sexual assault lawsuit. Giuffre died by suicide in 2025.

Jenkinson appeared remotely Friday from King's Lynn Police Investigation Centre in Norfolk with his arm in a sling. He pleaded guilty to failing to provide a blood specimen while in custody.

Police released Jenkinson on bail. Conditions bar him from entering Norfolk, contacting Andrew, and require him to stay 500 meters from Sandringham, Buckingham Palace, Balmoral Castle, Windsor Castle and Highgrove.
