Lauren Sánchez Bezos Arrives in Midnight Blue Gown at 2026 Met Gala
Lauren Sánchez Bezos arrived in a midnight blue gown to kick off the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala on the first Monday in May.
The annual invite-only event took place at the Costume Institute of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. It draws Hollywood's biggest stars to raise funds for the institute. Town & Country reported that this year's gala set a record by bringing in $42 million. Individual tickets sold for $100,000 apiece, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez-Bezos providing primary funding.
Protests took place across New York City ahead of Monday's event.
The 2026 Met Gala featured the theme "Costume Art," with a dress code of "Fashion Is Art." A related exhibition will open to the public May 10 and run through January 10, 2027.
Anna Wintour hosted the gala, joined by co-chairs Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.
Nicole Kidman wore a fiery red sequin gown with feather details on the sleeves. The "Babygirl" actress turned heads on the red carpet.
Lauren Sánchez Bezos, wife of Jeff Bezos, chose a navy blue floor-length gown. The off-the-shoulder dress had a low neckline and pearl detailing on the shoulder.
