Kyle Kuzma bets $36,000 on Spencer Pratt to win Los Angeles mayoral race

Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma placed a $36,000 bet that Spencer Pratt will win the Los Angeles mayoral race.

The June 2 nonpartisan primary is days away. Kuzma, who won a championship with the Lakers in 2020, said he is backing Pratt after the former reality television star launched his campaign in January.

Kuzma, 30, was drafted by the Lakers and played four seasons with the team. When some questioned his support for Pratt, Kuzma posted on X that Los Angeles has been "cooked since Covid."

Pratt lost his Pacific Palisades home in the 2025 wildfires and entered the race to challenge incumbent Mayor Karen Bass. He has criticized city leadership over emergency response, crime, spending and homelessness.

Pratt has received support from President Trump and Lakers minority owner Jeanie Buss, who made the maximum donation to his campaign. He has also drawn attention for calling Bass "Karen Basura" and promising to make the city safer.

Kuzma made the wager public as Pratt continues to campaign ahead of the primary vote.
