Flytrex Partners with Little Caesars for Drone Pizza Delivery in Texas

Flytrex has teamed up with Little Caesars to deliver two large 16-inch pizzas, sides and drinks by drone in Wylie, Texas. Customers can order through the Flytrex app if they live within a four-mile zone, as long as the total weight stays under 8.8 pounds.

The order feeds directly into Little Caesars' point-of-sale system for the first time with a drone platform. Staff prepare the food and place it curbside for remote pickup. The drone grabs it and flies to the customer's home in about four and a half minutes.

On arrival, the drone hovers over the yard and lowers the order on a wire. No landing or handoff is needed. The service uses Flytrex's new Sky2 drone, built for full family meals rather than small packages.

The Sky2 features an octocopter design with eight motors for redundancy if one fails. It has a dual battery system and uses satellite navigation with real-time corrections. Onboard AI monitors the flight for safety, with a range suited to suburban areas.

The company has completed more than 200,000 deliveries in the United States, including over 1,000 orders monthly in North Carolina. Other firms like Wing, Amazon, Grubhub and Manna are also expanding drone delivery in select U.S. markets and abroad.
