Florida man stabs grandmother 11 times in Mother's Day dinner dispute
A 29-year-old Florida man landed in jail after he allegedly stabbed his 74-year-old grandmother nearly a dozen times during a dispute over Mother's Day dinner.
West Palm Beach police responded to a home around 1:26 p.m. on May 10 for reports of a woman stabbed multiple times, court records show.
Officers arrived to find Keo Nottage fighting his cousin in the driveway, the site of the alleged stabbing.
Police later found the victim, Nottage's grandmother. She told them the fight started when Nottage was asked to help carry in groceries after they shopped for Mother's Day dinner. Nottage grew agitated and said, "Someone is going to die today," before grabbing a knife from the kitchen, according to court documents.
Authorities said Nottage then stabbed her approximately 11 times.
Nottage's cousin told police he tried to help the grandmother, but Nottage threatened him with the knife. The cousin escaped the home and called for help.
Officers arrested Nottage and booked him into Palm Beach County Jail. He remains there without bond, charged with attempted first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The grandmother went to a local hospital for surgery. She remains in critical condition.
