Florida Man in 'No Christ No Life' Shirt Robs, Knocks Out 82-Year-Old Woman at Tampa Bus Stop

Tampa police arrested a 56-year-old man for violently robbing an 82-year-old woman at a bus stop, leaving her unconscious after throwing her to the ground by her hair.

Joseph Patrick Wren faces a robbery charge after the May 1 attack around 7:45 p.m. in the Wellswood area near an intersection, authorities said Tuesday. Video from a witness's Tesla captured the suspect, who wore a white T-shirt reading "No Christ No Life" and a blue hat, grabbing the woman's hair, slamming her down and taking her bag before riding off on a bicycle.

The victim went to a local hospital and has been released. She is recovering at home.

Police sought public help to identify the man, who matched a description from an earlier bicycle theft that day. Officers spotted Wren near North Nebraska Avenue and East Annie Street during a patrol and took him into custody.

"The outstanding investigation, community assistance, and pro-active policing that led to a quick arrest in this case is a testament to the strength of our city," Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said. "It should be clear that in Tampa we all work together to hold criminals accountable, especially those who would foolishly choose to target our neighbors."

Wren remains in Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
