Eminem's Ex-Wife Kim Mathers Pleads No Contest in Hit-and-Run Case
Kim Mathers, the ex-wife of Eminem, pleaded no contest to charges from an alleged hit-and-run crash in February.
The 51-year-old appeared for arraignment Monday in Macomb County, Michigan, before Judge William H. Hackel III.
On Feb. 26, Mathers drove a white Range Rover and hit a parked vehicle on a street. Authorities believe she was impaired at the time. The impact pushed the vehicle about 50 feet from its spot, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Mathers did not stop. She returned to her house, entered the driveway and struck her garage door, TMZ reported. Her son Parker and his three friends were in the car.
Prosecutors charged her with operating a vehicle while impaired and failure to stop at the scene of an accident. The office released her mugshot Monday.
"Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment—it is a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk. We see the consequences far too often: lives lost, families shattered, and communities changed forever. These tragedies are preventable. There is always another option—call a ride, designate a driver, make a plan. Choosing to drive impaired is choosing to endanger others, and we will continue to hold those who make that choice fully accountable," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a statement.
Mathers faces sentencing on June 17.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, married Kim on June 14, 1999. They divorced in 2001, remarried on Jan. 14, 2006, and split again after he filed for divorce that April. The couple has one daughter, Hailie Jade.
