Pop star Dua Lipa filed a $15 million (£11 million) lawsuit against Samsung on Friday, accusing the company of using her image on television packaging without permission.

The suit, lodged in the US District Court for the Central District of California, claims Samsung prominently featured a photograph of Lipa's face on various TV models sold across the United States. The image came from her performance at the 2024 Austin City Limits Festival, and Lipa holds the copyright to it.

Lipa learned of the boxes in June 2025, according to the lawsuit. Fans took notice too, posting about the products on social media and dubbing them the "Dua Lipa TV Box."

The filing cites two Instagram comments: one user wrote they would "get that TV just because Dua is on it," while another said, "If you need anything selling just put a picture of Dua Lipa on it."

Lipa's legal team states that Samsung ignored repeated demands to cease and desist from infringing on her rights. The 30-year-old singer seeks damages for the unauthorized use.
