U.S. Coast Guard investigators seized the sailboat Soulmate, used by Brian and Lynette Hooker for travels around the Bahamas, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation.

The boat left Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas on Friday and headed to the U.S. when the Coast Guard took custody of it Saturday.

The seizure comes as the Coast Guard Investigative Service has stepped up its probe into the disappearance of Michigan mother Lynette Hooker, a source briefed on the investigation said.

CBS News confirmed that Coast Guard investigators have conducted interviews with potential witnesses.

Last week, investigators released images of another sailboat and said they sought to interview its occupants or owners.

Lynette Hooker was last seen near Aunt Pat's Bay, close to Elbow Cay and Hope Town, on the night of April 4, 2026. Her husband reported to local authorities that she fell overboard during a nighttime dinghy ride.

Brian Hooker has denied any wrongdoing and faces no charges. Bahamian authorities held him for questioning but released him after five days.
