Boxer knocked out in five seconds after glove-touch dispute
A heavyweight bout on the undercard of Karen Chukhadzhian versus Paddy Donovan in Germany ended in five seconds on Friday when Viktor Jurk knocked out Edwin Castillo.
Jurk, 26, landed a left hook as the fighters met in the center of the ring. Castillo, 23, dropped to the canvas immediately.
Jurk stood over his opponent without showing concern. An announcer called for medical staff to enter the ring. Medics attended to Castillo while the referee stepped away.
Fans on social media questioned the sequence. Several said Jurk appeared to lure Castillo into a glove touch before landing the punch. Others said the fall looked staged and accused Castillo of taking a dive.
Jurk improved to 14-0 with his 12th knockout. Castillo fell to 13-3, with all three losses coming in his last four fights.
