Adolescence Leads Bafta TV Awards Nominations Ahead of Sunday Ceremony
Stars from hit series including Adolescence, Amandaland, The Celebrity Traitors and Last One Laughing will attend the Bafta Television Awards on Sunday. The event marks one of the biggest nights on the British TV calendar.
Adolescence leads the nominations after sweeping prizes at the National TV Awards, Golden Globes and Emmys over the past year. The Netflix drama has seven nods, while sitcom Amandaland picked up four in comedy categories.
Erin Doherty and Aimee Lou Wood each have two acting nominations. Alan Carr, Bob Mortimer and Romesh Ranganathan also appear twice on the shortlists.
Adolescence stands as the frontrunner for best limited drama. Five cast members earned acting bids: Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Christine Tremarco.
The scene in which Cooper's character Jamie snaps at Doherty's psychologist is up for the memorable moment award, the only category decided by public vote. The series already won two Baftas at the Craft Awards two weeks ago, which honor behind-the-scenes work.
Doherty's other nomination is for best actress in Disney+'s A Thousand Blows, also nominated for best drama. Aimee Lou Wood competes for best actress in BBC Three's Film Club and best supporting actress in HBO/Sky's The White Lotus.
Other leading acting nominees include Colin Firth for Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, Jodie Whittaker for Toxic Town, Matt Smith for The Death of Bunny Munro, Sheridan Smith for I Fought The Law and Taron Egerton for Smoke.
Amandaland is nominated for best scripted comedy. Lucy Punch, Philippa Dunne and Jennifer Saunders vie for best comedy actress; Saunders played Amanda's aunt in the Christmas special.
The Celebrity Traitors, 2025's most-watched show, is up for best reality show. Host Claudia Winkleman has a best entertainment performance nomination.
Alan Carr's victory is among the memorable moment nominees. He also competes for best entertainment performance in Amanda & Alan's Spanish Job.
Bob Mortimer seeks best entertainment performance for his win in the first series of Last One Laughing, nominated for best entertainment programme.
Romesh Ranganathan has two best entertainment performance nods: for Romesh: Can't Knock the Hustle and with Rob Beckett for Rob & Romesh Vs.
Dame Mary Berry will receive the Bafta Fellowship, the organization's top honorary award. Martin Lewis gets the Special Award.
The ceremony airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 19:00 BST on Sunday. It will broadcast a couple of hours after the live event, with BBC News posting winners in real time on its live page.
Greg Davies, star of Taskmaster, hosts for the first time, succeeding last year's host Alan Cumming. Davies brings his sharp comedic style from Taskmaster and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Musical performances come from Celebrity Traitors finalist Cat Burns and Norwegian singer Aurora. Aurora will perform Through the Eyes of a Child from Adolescence during the In Memoriam segment.
