Trump Administration Releases Declassified UAP Videos Fueling Alien Life Beliefs at AI Event
Newly declassified footage from the Pentagon has bolstered Americans' convictions that alien life exists. Attendees at an artificial intelligence conference shared that view with Fox News Digital, saying the videos lend credence to longstanding suspicions.
The material forms part of President Donald Trump’s effort to boost transparency on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAPs. It contains previously unseen clips and documents that have heightened public curiosity about the objects and prompted fresh questions about government secrecy.
"I think the transparency is great — that we’re finally hearing information that they, obviously, have known for a while," one respondent said.
Another told Fox News Digital: "I think if the government has any information about extraterrestrials and they have been holding it as a secret — I guess it’s about time they released it for the public to know about."
The comments reflect ongoing public fascination with extraterrestrial life, UAPs and the newly disclosed footage.
"I know there’s life on other planets," one respondent said. "We just don’t disclose it."
The administration released the files and videos Friday through Trump’s Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as PURSUE.
The clips capture various objects maneuvering in unusual ways through the air or water. They originated in countries including Iran, Iraq, Syria and Greece.
The documents detail UFO and UAP sightings in line with Trump’s order to increase openness on such reports, none of which have been explained.
Tens of millions of documents are under review for release on a rolling basis.
"While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files," the White House said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Most respondents at the AI event said the disclosures would benefit the public.
"Yeah, I think it’s a good idea. And I hope that the world doesn’t go bonkers. And that’s why I think the information has to be slowly released for people because not everybody’s ready for it," one person said.
One attendee expressed doubt about the release, warning it might spark panic.
"Horrible idea. We are pack thinkers, and once one of the pack goes, ‘oh, they’re coming to get us,’ we break out into a frenzy," that person said.
Others argued the subject demands complete openness.
"I think they ought to be absolutely transparent. We need to know what they have found, because I do not believe that we are the only ones in the universe," another respondent said.
