One of the passengers from the MV Hondius cruise ship posted video of his quarantine room at the National Quarantine Unit of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Officials are monitoring those aboard for a hantavirus outbreak linked to the voyage.

Jake Rosmarin, a passenger now under quarantine, has shared his experience on social media with videos from the ship and the medical facility. Fox News Digital has not independently verified the video.

Health officials stated passengers are under observation as a precaution after possible exposure to Andes virus, a type of hantavirus. They stressed the risk to the public remains low.

In a recent video, Rosmarin displayed his room, equipped with wall-mounted hand sanitizer, a thermometer and other health supplies. The space also contained a stationary bike.

"I can have stuff sent here for the duration of my stay, so I'm definitely going to be getting some things for me to feel more at home and more comfortable," Rosmarin said.

He plans to post more updates in coming days and said he feels well. Rosmarin added he has not tested positive for hantavirus.

The video shows conditions in the quarantine unit as officials track passengers for signs of exposure after the outbreak.

Health officials said passengers may leave the Nebraska facility before the end of a 42-day monitoring period if they stay symptom-free and can isolate safely at home. Officials will check if individuals can stay in touch with local health departments and get quick testing or care if symptoms appear.

Of 18 people brought to the U.S. after the outbreak, 16 are in Nebraska and two are in Atlanta. Most remain in quarantine, but one went into a biocontainment unit after an earlier test result.

Officials noted the Andes variant of hantavirus does not spread easily and usually needs prolonged, close contact with a symptomatic person.
