Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Tuesday around 4 p.m. to a burglary report in the 17000 block of Southeast River Road. A 911 caller said a man entered their garage and stole items, based on home security footage.
Deputies got images of the suspect from the caller, who described him driving a white Ford Explorer.
Deputies identified the man as Scotty Nicholas Oldfield. A deputy spotted his vehicle on Southeast Roethe Road, but Oldfield sped past and led officers on a pursuit.
Oldfield crashed into an occupied vehicle near Southeast Oatfield Road and Southeast Park Avenue. His SUV rolled and then struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.
The other driver declined medical treatment on site.
Deputies took Oldfield into custody and sent him to a local hospital for serious injuries. A search of his vehicle turned up suspected stolen items.
Oldfield faces charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, DUII, identity theft, driving while suspended or revoked, third-degree assault related to DUII, and criminal mischief.
Investigators found Oldfield had outstanding warrants from Oregon and Washington for failure to appear, DUII, driving while suspended, false information, identity theft, assault, reckless endangerment, robbery, malicious mischief and criminal trespass.
