NYPD Releases Footage of Four Suspects in Queens Antisemitic Graffiti Spree
The New York Police Department released surveillance footage of four people wanted in connection with an antisemitic graffiti spree targeting New York City's Jewish community.
Swastikas appeared spray-painted at multiple locations in Queens overnight Monday, New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin said.
On Tuesday, the NYPD shared video of the four suspects sought for hate criminal mischief across five separate occasions.
Additional footage from Shmira Public Safety, obtained by Fox News, shows a group near one targeted home. The homeowner found a swastika on the garage the next morning.
Symbols turned up on synagogues, private homes, cars and a Jewish community center. One swastika covered a plaque honoring Holocaust victims.
"When rabbis and congregants arrived to pray this morning, they expected to be met with their usual loving community," Menin said in a social media post. "When a family woke up, they were prepared to begin an otherwise normal week. Instead, they were met with terrifying signals of hatred and threats of violence."
Menin said authorities will remove the graffiti after completing their investigation.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the acts in a statement on X. "I am horrified and angered by the swastikas painted on homes and synagogues in Queens, including on a plaque honoring survivors of Kristallnacht," he said. "This is not just vandalism — it is a deliberate act of antisemitic hatred meant to instill fear. There is no place for antisemitism in Queens or anywhere in our city."
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating, Mamdani said.
