New Jersey Rideshare Driver Charged with Harassing Princeton Students, Luring for Sex
A New Jersey rideshare driver landed in jail after authorities accused him of harassing Princeton University students and trying to lure them into his car for sex.
Dimario Wynter, 28, of Spotswood, faces two counts of harassment and luring, plus one count of disorderly conduct, according to a Mercer County Prosecutor's Office press release.
The first incident happened around noon on April 16. A Princeton student told police she was walking on Prospect Avenue when a man in a black Jeep Patriot pulled over to ask for directions, prosecutors said.
While they talked, the man handed her a $100 bill, got out of the vehicle and walked quickly toward her, demanding a sexual act, authorities said. The student dropped the money and ran.
The next day, April 17, at about 9:30 a.m., a second Princeton student was walking on Ivy Lane when a man in a dark van or SUV stopped to ask for directions, the release said.
He gave her a $100 bill and asked her to leave with him. She returned the money, and the man drove off, prosecutors said.
Police investigating the incidents identified Wynter as the suspect and learned he drives for Lyft.
"We take reports like this extremely seriously, and the driver has been permanently removed from the platform," a Lyft spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "We stand ready to assist law enforcement with their investigation."
Officers arrested Wynter on April 30 and later released him pending court appearances, prosecutors said.
